The Germany Opportunity Card is available to eligible skilled professionals from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland who want to search for suitable employment in Germany.

You can qualify through one of two routes:

Recognised skilled worker: You have a foreign academic or vocational qualification that is fully recognised in Germany.

Points-based route: You have a qualifying foreign degree or vocational qualification and meet the requirements of Germany's points system, including the required language skills and a minimum of 6 points.

Your points can be based on factors such as professional experience, age, language skills, qualification recognition, previous experience in Germany and your spouse or partner's eligibility, depending on your circumstances.

You must also be able to show that you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay in Germany.

The Opportunity Card is designed for qualified professionals from outside the EU who want to find suitable employment in Germany.
